Community Outreach

Central to the definition of “community” is a belief that inclusion and connectivity are core values and everyone that is a part of the campus community should feel welcomed and included. MSU is a reflection of the people that work, study and live here. When people feel a sense of community, see their involvement and their issues as relevant, view the process and organizational environment as open and supportive, they will connect and participate.

University-wide programs that feature diversity and inclusion are coordinated by Community Outreach. Efforts are also made to establish a broad spectrum of community-based relationships between the Office for Inclusion and colleges, departments and organizations. Each year, time-honored as well as new events that highlight diversity and inclusion are implemented to recognize the remarkable efforts made by faculty, staff and students at MSU. These efforts enhance our quality of life, increase our awareness and emphasize the importance of our commitment to equity and social justice in our community.
