Equity and Nondiscrimination
Institutional Equity can assist your unit by
- Providing advice in responding to allegations of discrimination or harassment by any member of the University community: direct complaints to proper offices; investigate complaints, draft reports containing findings to units, work with units to provide support on follow-through
- Monitoring incidents of discrimination or harassment to determine trends, in order to assess specific training or other supportive resource needs
- Offering counseling and advice on the Anti-Discrimination and Harassment Policies and investigatory procedures and techniques
- Coordinating with other units on campus to ensure proper follow-through and response to issues in order to achieve equal opportunity and nondiscrimination
- Providing, monitoring and promoting a bias incident hotline, as well as I3’s services, to facilitate reporting incidents of discrimination and harassment
Institutional Equity also
- Monitors and analyzes new developments in affirmative action, nondiscrimination, and civil rights laws, regulations, and court decisions to ensure University policy and procedures remain compliant
- Reviews or proposes revision to equal opportunity and nondiscrimination policies and procedures
