Equal Opportunity and Nondiscrimination

The Office for Inclusion provides leadership for the university’s commitment and efforts to ensure opportunities for success to all individuals, regardless of background. Specifically, the Office:

  • Works to prevent discrimination and harassment by providing campus-wide education and training opportunities regarding the Anti-Discrimination Policy.
  • Offers consultation and advice on the Anti-Discrimination and Harassment Policies for individual campus community members and units.
  • Provides consultation and advice regarding investigatory procedures and techniques to units responding to allegations of discrimination or harassment by any member of the University community.
  • Investigates allegations of discrimination or harassment, or assists units in doing so, including creating an investigation plan, interviewing witnesses, analyzing the information gathered, drafting a report containing analysis and findings, working with units to provide support on follow-through.
  • Monitors incidents of discrimination or harassment to determine trends, in order to assess specific training or other supportive resource needs.
  • Coordinates with other units on campus to ensure proper follow-through and response to issues in order to achieve equal opportunity and nondiscrimination.
  • Provides, monitors and promotes a bias incident reporting line, as well as the Office for Inclusion’s services, to facilitate reporting incidents of discrimination and harassment.
