Awards and Programs
The Office for Institutional Diversity and Inclusion coordinates university-wide programs that honor contributions made by individuals who have dedicated their life's work to civil rights, equity and justice. MSU faculty, staff, and students are recognized for their exceptional and innovative contributions toward advancing diversity, equity and inclusion.
With the support of IDI, programs are developed by committees, and MSU students, faculty and staff are invited to participate as volunteers on any of the committees listed on this website.
Committee Program Requirements
Committees are required to follow the Program Planning and Operating Procedures Manual, download and then fill out the Program Proposal Form and Budget Proposal Form.

Photo and video consent
Photography and video recording can occur at awards programs, where people in the background may be captured on camera. At MSU, we value consent and will be thoughtful in considering the use of such photography, filming and/or recording in any university use. César E. Chávez and Dolores Huerta Celebration
Held to honor the labor leader and civil rights activists' life and work, join community on March 25 for afternoon workshops and dinner at the Kellogg Center. All events are free.
Institutional Diversity and Inclusion Speaker Series
On April 1, join IDI for a conversation with Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer Jabbar R. Bennett, Ph.D., and Dr. Bryan MicKinley Jones Brayboy, dean of Northwestern University School of Education and Social Policy and the Carlos Montezuma Professor of Education and Social Policy, for his talk on Indigenous Knowledge Systems.
