(CIEG) Creating Inclusive Excellence Grants

The Office for Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives facilitates development, research and assessment of university-wide diversity and inclusion efforts through the Creating Inclusive Excellence Grants (CIEG). Significant time has been dedicated to initiating the Boldness by Design strategic imperatives building on MSU’s values. Foremost among our values are quality, connectivity, and inclusiveness. During the President’s 2005 Founder’s Day Address, inclusiveness was defined as follows: “providing opportunity for learners from all backgrounds—bringing their passion and talent to join a vibrant, intellectual community built on mutual respect —to experience and to multiply the benefits of the power of knowledge throughout their lives.”

The MSU community has the opportunity to create synergy within and across organizational systems in support of an inclusive educational and work environment through the “Creating Inclusive Excellence at Michigan State University” funding. The request for proposals includes opportunities for non-recurring funding of college and academic unit projects or programs and, non-recurring funding for proposals from other academic and administrative units, individuals or groups (faculty and staff) that are intended to create and support an inclusive university.

The deadline for submitting proposals for the 2013-14 academic year is Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Your proposal may be submitted electronically. If you have questions about this program, please contact Ms. Jennifer Mitchner by calling 517-353-3924.
